Had a great time here the other night for trivia while visiting friends in town. It's a classic neighborhood bar in Saint Louis. Such a gem! The ONLY reason I couldn't give 5 stars is only because of how loud it is inside. Some sort of minor sound insulation would do wonders. Our server Shelly was training a new team member, and both of them were great, friendly, attentive, and incredibly thoughtful. We got some toasted ravs for an appetizer. They were so tasty and just perfect nostalgia. I had a burger--it was juicy. Fries are just ok. The pot roast is also really good but a little too salty. Definitely try it if you're in the neighborhood!
The Mack is always a nice stop during the week for a drink and a bite to eat. Nice atmosphere, good specials and solid food options. For me, it's too loud and crowded on the weekends but that's a personal preference, so if you're looking for that..by all means stop in on a Friday night! I usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are always friendly. Occasionally the inside vaping can be a bit much if a number of people are going at once *but* it's usually not that bad. Great neighborhood staple that's consistent and enjoyable.
Great neighborhood spot that we love to frequent on any day of the week. Staff is efficient and friendly, food is always consistently good however always say we wish they'd extend their menu back to what they offered before Covid.
Honestly I only came here for the Tuesday night trivia but the food was GOOD. Highly highly recommend the chicken and waffles sandwich. The waffles taste like a Belgian waffle where each bite has crusted sugar on it--I would come back just for this! Our server was great and trivia was 10/10.
